Brighton rock trio BELA FOOL release their new single and video, Up To Me, on Friday 25th September, followed by their debut EP, Fool Me Once, on Friday 2nd October. The releases introduce BELA FOOL’s world of sharp contrasts, loud guitars, and human contradictions.

BELA FOOL explore the space between opposites: humour and darkness, confidence and doubt, beauty and chaos. Their idea of ‘The Big Joke’ reflects the absurd inconsistencies found in people and society. Formed in Brighton in 2025 through a shared love of martial arts, the three-piece features Jordan Nihill (vocals/rhythm guitar), Sye (lead guitar/backing vocals), and Jonas Foote (bass). After meeting at a martial arts gym, Jordan and Sye began building BELA FOOL, with Jonas joining soon afterwards and teaching himself bass in under a month to become part of the band.

Drawing from alternative rock alongside classic rock, punk, and Britpop, BELA FOOL combine influences from Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, and Toy Dolls with their own songwriting approach. Their new single, Up To Me, explores responsibility, uncertainty, and how much control anyone really has over their own path. Guitars that cut through, driving rhythms, and vocals that hit hard capture the tension between chaos and control at the heart of BELA FOOL ‘s music.

The debut EP, Fool Me Once, brings together three musicians from different backgrounds, shaped by their experiences and the challenges of building a band across borders. Jordan Nihill, singer, remarks: “What do you want from a record? Truth, excitement, a touch of melancholy? Fool Me Once draws on real stories and lived experiences. Honest lyrics meet raw, unpolished music- just energy straight to the face.” The band have continued writing and recording while navigating personal setbacks and the challenges of keeping an international member connected after Brexit.

Following the releases, BELA FOOL will tour throughout England for the remainder of the year. They will also play their first international shows in Cork and Dublin in November. Fool Me Once introduces Bela Fool’s world: explosive riffs, tangled relationships, and the dark humour at its centre.
